Establishing Environmental Responsibility; Launch of the “Green Family, Safe Iran” Campaign with a Focus on HSE Culture in Isfahan

ISFAHAN – In line with achieving sustainable development goals and enhancing environmental indicators, the provincial campaign “Green Family, Safe Iran” has officially launched in Isfahan, focusing on the critical pillars of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE). This campaign provides a modern framework for instilling HSE culture within the household and maximizing public participation.

According to the HSE Management Information Portal, this social initiative—launched under the slogan “Environmental Culture, National Participation, Healthy Environment”—emphasizes the fundamental role of the family as the primary hub for education and culture-building in the prevention of environmental hazards. The ultimate objective of this program is to transition from general awareness toward responsible, operational behaviors in preserving national assets.

Operational Strategies for Enhancing Community HSE

The Governor of Isfahan, while inviting the general public to join this widespread movement, highlighted the importance of implementing environmental requirements in daily life. He emphasized, “Resource management (water and energy), proper waste segregation at the source—as a cornerstone of environmental hygiene—the reduction of single-use plastics, and the prevention of littering in nature are not merely moral duties, but safety imperatives for preserving public health and ensuring a secure future for generations to come.”

Transforming the Family into an HSE Education Hub

Maryam Kermani, Acting Head of the Isfahan Provincial Department of Environment, described the family’s position in the societal HSE management hierarchy as strategic. She stated, “The ‘Green Family, Safe Iran’ campaign is designed to transform every household into a specialized environmental education hub. Through the ‘Iranian Green Covenant,’ families pledge to adopt environmentally friendly lifestyles, acting as proactive contributors within the nation’s environmental protection chain.”

She further encouraged citizens to document their successful initiatives—such as effective waste management, resource conservation, and biodiversity preservation—through various media formats (photos, reports, and narratives) and share them with the community.

Call for Organizational and Public Synergy

The Isfahan Department of Environment has called on all stakeholders, including executive bodies, municipalities, NGOs, and cultural and artistic activists, to maximize synergy in promoting environmental responsibility.

According to the program’s roadmap, top household initiatives will be evaluated by specialized committees. At the conclusion of the first phase, participating households will be recognized and honored as the “Green Families of Isfahan Province.”

This campaign aims to establish a national network of families committed to environmental protection, which, by relying on applied HSE training, can serve as a successful model for enhancing community health and achieving sustainable national security.
