Mashhad – The CEO of the Mashhad Fire Department and Safety Services Organization announced that 53 emergency and safety operations were carried out across the city following recent snowfall and rainfall, aimed at managing weather-related incidents and ensuring public safety.
According to Mehr News Agency, Fire Chief Hamidreza Kafi‑Nia stated that from the onset of the precipitation until 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2025, Mashhad firefighters remained on continuous alert, responding promptly to reported incidents throughout the city.
He explained that during this period, 29 operations were related to electrical infrastructure incidents, including securing downed power cables on vehicles and walls as well as resolving electrical short circuits. In addition, 18 operations involved the cutting and removal of fallen or hazardous trees, while six missions were conducted to address water accumulation and ground subsidence in urban streets and parking areas.
Emphasizing the continuation of emergency services, Kafi‑Nia noted that despite adverse weather conditions, Mashhad firefighters are still fully deployed and on standby across the city to respond rapidly to any potential emergencies.
In conclusion, he urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel due to the risk of icy roads, slippery surfaces, and reduced visibility, and to immediately report hazards such as fallen power lines or trees by contacting the emergency hotline 125.
