However, consuming foods with a high glycemic index\u2014such as traditional sweets like zolbia and bamieh\u2014immediately after iftar disrupts this safe metabolic balance.<\/p><h3 dir=\"rtl\" lang=\"fa\"><strong>Metabolic Risks of High Sugar Intake: A Threat to Sustainable Health<\/strong><\/h3><p dir=\"rtl\" lang=\"fa\">According to the Deputy Minister of Health, the sudden spike in insulin following the consumption of simple sugars can:<\/p><ul dir=\"rtl\" lang=\"fa\"><li class=\"translation-block\">Lead to insulin resistance<\/li><li>Increase fat accumulation<\/li><li>Exacerbate obesity and non\u2011communicable diseases<\/li><li>Cause secondary hypoglycemia, drowsiness, and fatigue<\/li><\/ul><p dir=\"rtl\" lang=\"fa\">These effects ultimately negate the beneficial impacts of fasting and contradict the health\u2011centered principles of HSE.<\/p><h3 dir=\"rtl\" lang=\"fa\"><strong>Healthy Nutrition, Food Safety, and Physical Activity: The Three Pillars of Ramadan HSE Health<\/strong><\/h3><p dir=\"rtl\" lang=\"fa\">Raeisi recommended choosing healthy, low\u2011sugar foods for iftar, stating that beginning the meal with water and foods with a low glycemic index, sufficient protein, and high fiber leads to a more moderate insulin response and longer\u2011lasting satiety\u2014factors that play a key role in weight control and metabolic health.<\/p><p dir=\"rtl\" lang=\"fa\" class=\"translation-block\">He emphasized that attention to food safety, nutritional quality, reduced sugar intake, and increased physical activity is essential not only for people with diabetes but for the general population, and can significantly reduce the burden of non\u2011communicable diseases.<\/p><h3 dir=\"rtl\" lang=\"fa\"><strong>Childhood Obesity: An HSE Alarm for Future Generations<\/strong><\/h3><p dir=\"rtl\" lang=\"fa\">Addressing children and adolescents, the Deputy Minister noted that reduced physical activity due to excessive use of mobile phones and virtual spaces has endangered children\u2019s health safety and increased the risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and metabolic disorders.<\/p><p dir=\"rtl\" lang=\"fa\">From an HSE perspective, he stressed that providing safe environments for physical activity, promoting sports culture, and teaching healthy lifestyles in schools are fundamental preventive measures.<\/p><h3 dir=\"rtl\" lang=\"fa\"><strong>Environmental and Social Dimensions of Obesity<\/strong><\/h3><p dir=\"rtl\" lang=\"fa\" class=\"translation-block\">Raeisi also highlighted the role of environmental factors in obesity, stating that air pollution, heavy metals in water, and certain medications can impair pancreatic function, disrupt insulin regulation, and ultimately contribute to obesity and diabetes\u2014issues that are critically important within the environmental (E) component of HSE.<\/p><p dir=\"rtl\" lang=\"fa\">He added that socioeconomic conditions, limited access to healthy foods, and high consumption of fast food and soft drinks further exacerbate overweight and metabolic disorders, and should be addressed in health\u2011oriented policymaking.<\/p><h3 dir=\"rtl\" lang=\"fa\"><strong>The Need for a Comprehensive HSE Approach to Non\u2011Communicable Diseases<\/strong><\/h3><p dir=\"rtl\" lang=\"fa\">In conclusion, the Deputy Minister of Health emphasized that controlling obesity and preventing non\u2011communicable diseases requires a comprehensive, multi\u2011sectoral approach based on HSE principles.
